Terms and Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all language courses offered by our school (group and private). They outline the expectations, requirements, and policies that govern participation in these courses, including enrolment, cancellation, and refund procedures. By enrolling in a course, students agree to adhere to these terms, which are designed to ensure a productive and respectful learning environment for all people involved.  There are different specifics for group courses and private sessions, so please read carefully.

  1. Course Description, Enrolment, and Eligibility

    1. Group Courses

      1. The course runs for 10 weeks, comprising one 2-hour group class and two 1-hour community sessions each week.

      2. Flexibility Promise: If you miss a 2-hour group class, you are entitled to one 1-hour make-up class per 10-week course if you cannot join another group's class on the same topic.

      3. Participants are required to have a minimum B2 (upper-intermediate) level of English to join.

      4. The group classes are, unless otherwise stated, designed for a maximum of 8 students and a minimum of 4. If fewer than 4 students enrol, the course may be rescheduled.

      5. Enrolment is open until one day before the course start date. If you miss this deadline, you will be placed in a future course, which will be scheduled based on availability, with no minimum waiting time.

    2. Private Sessions

      1. Please check bookings for private session packages and memberships carefully.  Details for what you select are available on the various services pages.

      2. Each session, unless otherwise stated, is 50-minutes long.

      3. Students of any CEFR level may book private sessions.

  2. Cancellation and Refund Policy

    1. Special Group Courses (e.g. International Community and the Environment)

      1. The school reserves the right to cancel the course under any circumstances, in which case the full course fee will be refunded.

      2. In special circumstances, such as significant illness or injury or the death of a loved one, students may be eligible for a full refund. Approval for such cases is at the discretion of the school.

      3. Refunds will be processed through the payment platform used at the time of purchase, and any applicable fees will be deducted.

    2. Private Sessions and Non-Special Group Classes (General Group Classes and Academic Group Classes)

      1. The school reserves the right to cancel the course under any circumstances, in which case the full course fee will be refunded.

      2. Unless otherwise stated, students can cancel and reschedule individual lessons for whatever reason up until 24 hours before the class is scheduled.

      3. In special circumstances, such as significant illness or injury or the death of a loved one, students may be eligible for a replacement lesson if they miss one session. Approval for such cases is at the discretion of the school.

      4. Refunds will be processed through the payment platform used at the time of purchase, and any applicable fees will be deducted.

  3. Technology Requirements

    1. Students must have access to a stable internet connection, a webcam, a microphone, and Google Meet to participate in the course.

  4. Code of Conduct and Student Responsibilities.

    1. Students are expected to:

      1. Show respect for the teacher and fellow students.

      2. Actively participate in all sessions.

      3. Complete any assigned preparation.

      4. Respect the privacy and confidentiality of other students.

      5. Keep their cameras on during sessions.

      6. Follow the instructor’s directions.

    2. If Finch deems that students do not comply with the above expectations, enrolment may be revoked without refund.

  5. Communication and Support

  6. Privacy and Data Protection

    1. We are committed to protecting your personal information. It will be used, stored, and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

    2. Please note that sessions will not be recorded.

  7. Changes to the Course or Policy

    1. Group Courses

      1. Please be aware that course content, dates, and times may be modified without prior notice to students.

    2. Private Sessions

      1. Please be aware that course content, dates, and times may be modified without prior notice to students.

  8. Force Majeure

    1. The school is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under this agreement if such failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, technical failures, or other unforeseen events.

  9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

    1. This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of London, United Kingdom.
